The Classic Mustang Analyzer Trial Edition has been accepted for downloads by the Simtel worldwide network of mirror sites. This is great news for us because Simtel and each one of it's mirror sites around the world maintain their own separate copies for downloads on their own private servers. This takes the pressure off of our server and allows everyone to download from there nearest server location. The result is that all downloads speed up. You say, "What the heck are you talking about?" Well if someone lives in Australia, they will now be able to download from an Australian internet site or server. Anyone will be able to choose the closest city or country download site.
FORD MOTOR COMPANY FORMS OFFICE OF CHAIRMAN AND CEO
DEARBORN, Mich., July 26 – Ford Motor Company today announced the formation of the Office of the Chairman and CEO to lead the company into the future. The office will consist of William Clay Ford, Jr., chairman, and Jacques Nasser, president and CEO, and will focus on policy, strategy, key issues affecting the future direction of the company and other major business issues. The structure formalizes the ongoing working relationship between Bill Ford and Jacques Nasser that has been developing since their appointments in January 1999.
The purpose of establishing this new structure is to streamline the management process and improve decision-making efficiency. It will give the Chairman and CEO a formal opportunity for an earlier review in policy, strategy and business proposals and will allow the CEO to access input and views at an earlier stage in the development process.
"We face challenging times and this new structure allows both Jacques and me to work hand-in-hand to lead the company forward and meet these challenges," Bill Ford said. "We will continue to work together to maintain our strong position in the marketplace."
"Bill and I are both looking forward to continuing to provide the strategic direction for the company in every key area of the business." Nasser added. "This new office strengthens our working relationship and allows us to react even more quickly to address the key issues facing the business." The two men will meet regularly, have decision-making authority and invite other members of senior management to attend to discuss issues as needed. The new structure was approved by the Board of Directors and is effective immediately.

CMA CORKBOARD
This is the first announcement of an entirely new area for CMA. The area will be known as the "Corkboard", and will be available to all user's and members of CMA. The area will be divided up into two logical categories known as "Club News" and "Member News" respectively.
Club News should be used for posting such items as car shows, cruise nights, road rallies, club websites, and any other events open to the public. The Members News area should be used for member announcements, such as announcing which place your car earned at a particular show, or how you fixed or repaired something. It may also be used to help others learn how to use the Classic Mustang Analyzer software, by providing or sharing a useful tip. You may want to share a fact or detail about your car and the board will allow you to post a link to your Mustang website or photo of your car. I hope this will be a very interactive, busy and positive part of CMA.
The regular Club Events page will eventually be closed down. Since you will be able to post events directly now there will be no further need for it. Please follow the link above to experience the new "CMA Corkboard".
Charley noticed some information on the CMA website Gallery page number 3 that was not quite accurate and sent us this letter to clear things up. After a couple of back and forth exchange's things were made right and Charley's SAAC MK1 became this month's Mustang of the Month. For more information about SAAC Mustangs, read Charley's letter below and try Hunter Wilson's site Wilson Swilley Motorsports.
To whom it may concern:
Your info. on the SAAC Mustangs is a little incorrect. I am the Registrar for the Shelby American Automobile Club Mk. 1 and 2s which were built from 1991 to 1993. These cars are extremely rare and I wanted to let you know some more accurate information on the cars.
First of all, I wanted to thank you for showing a picture of one the cars on your website. Since the early 90s these cars have basically gone unnoticed.
Secondly, I would like to set the record straight, these cars are some of the rarest true production cars ever built. They were built by SAAC Car Company(not a tuner) with a possible production of 250 units predicted and advertised. The actual production total was 65. This included all prototypes, mk 1s, mk 2s and Snakes. To verify this information, you can check the SAAC Registry. These cars were developed with the help of Ford Motor Co. to introduce the GT40 motor package and get everything through Federal Emissions Standards in one package as opposed to each piece separately. This saved Ford money and allowed SAAC Car Company to introduce a proven dynotested 295 horsepower 302. SVO helped with the rear disc brakes and other little tricks to help build a really Hot Mustang before anybody but tuners built such things. The initial response for these cars was so strong that Ford took note and came out with the Cobra in 1993. Ford, obviously, could build a car cheaper than any small upstart company and they did and prematurely ended the production of the Mk 2s and Snakes. These cars were not cheap at $40,000 compared to a Cobra at $28,000 - but which one was faster? The only Mustang comparable was the Saleen SSC. The Mk 1s were built in 1991 and 1992. The Mk 2s and Snakes were built in 1993 with some being convertibles. All cars were numbered and are documented in the SAAC Registry. I can personally vouch for these cars as I own Mk 1 #40 which is pictured in the Registry. These Mustangs are extremely fast and agile with documentation to prove it. I also, own a 1988 Kenny Brown prepared Mustang GT which can't hold a candle to these cars.
These are true collector cars which are streetable and they rip! Most of these cars are tucked away on jack stands or in a bag because if any Mustang is collectable, these are! Let me know if you need more info. on these rare cars, I'd be happy to help. Once again, thanks for putting one on your site and don't brake till you see God!
Thanks,
Charley Olson
BASIC INFORMATION: Would you like to have songs that go with your classic Mustang's year? If you have your own CD Writer and burn your own CD-R's this might come in helpful. To download MP3 files, first you have to locate them. Try using Napster (download at Napster.com)or Imesh (download at imesh.com). You also need to be able to convert your MP3's to .wav files before you burn them onto the CD-R as they will not play on your car CD player in MP3 format. To change them into .wav files use WinAmp also downloadable at Softseek.com. All programs are now free by the way, but Napster might start charging for there service soon. If you just want to play the MP3 files on your computer all you need is Napster. Windows Media Player, Real Player and Imesh the new kid on the block also can play them. Search for songs by title or by artist. Look for more songs listed by year in future CMA Newsletters.
1978-1979 SONGS:

Mustang of the Month feature Mustang...is a SAAC MK 1 and #40 belongs to Charley Olson. The above photo was taken by Hunter Wilson while he still owned the car, before selling it to Charley. Please refer to the article above, entitled SAAC MUSTANGS for more information about these very rare Mustangs. Go to the CMA home page and wait for the pop-up to see Charley's #40 photo.

Car Care 2000 - Developed by SCB Consulting
I usually never look at the start up "Tips" of most software programs, that is past the first one or two before removing the check in the check box for "show this at startup". It was very different with Car Care 2000 however. Most every tip was an interesting and informative automotive tidbit. In your face information about oil, tires, wax and even a few jokes.
After closing the Tips section one is presented with four main windows. You can add or edit existing cars, keep track of fuel, vehicle maintenance, and payments. As a reviewer I want everyone to know just how easy this program was to start using. Just double click in any information window and an add information screen pops up! You'll be using this program within minutes of installation, I promise.
In the Vehicle Information section you can keep track of the year, make, model, body style, VIN, engine, drivetrain, trim, build codes, purchase , insurance, inspection and registration information. Some items can be selected from drop down menus to save time.
The fuel section enables you to keep track of odometer readings, miles, gallons, and price. The best part is that it automatically calculates the miles per gallon of the vehicle entered.
Maintenance records were a snap with the efficient use of the drop down menus. Choose the maintenance option, the service provider, and enter the amounts or item numbers. The program keeps a running total for you.
The payment purchase area is really well done and well thought out. There is even a section to keep track of those pesky traffic citations as well as the more common insurance, lease and license tag payments.
Misellaneous items allow for metric or U.S. measure, display of vehicle images and pop-up reminders. The HELP section is very useful, providing solid explanations and recommendations for the best use and documentation of certain items.
All in all this program is an excellent value and one of the best vehicle maintenance programs that I have experienced. The screens are easy to interpret and well laid out. Adding information is actually fun! I recommend this software program to all who wish to maintain their vehicles in a proper manner.

Our old Mustang Top 100 Award was starting to look a little old and stale, so I decided to update it to a more dashplaque look.
Click on the Award to find out how to add it to your website. If you were displaying the old award and wish to keep it, that's fine with me. If you want to make the change, just grab the new award and upload it to your web storage area. Change your code to the name of the new award .gif image and you are in business.
