A great idea Ford forgot about. During the first few years of 3rd generation Mustang production Ford included PART D9ZB-6619B90-AWC with all Moon Roof equipped vehicles. Probably to save a few pennies, the bean counters advised against including it, or it may have been a safety issue, I'm not sure. However it was a great idea! It prevented excessive heat build up in the car during the hot summer months and eased the work of the air conditioner. I wish Ford had continued to produce this necessary item during the later years. I have a 1989 LX 5.0 Sport Hatchback and was forced to make or create my own with dark plexiglass and velcro strips. It was very functional, but not so easy to remove and install as the original, which was held in place with simple plastic twist knobs. If you have an early 3rd generation car equipped with one of these, let me know how you feel about it and include a photo of it installed on your car. I'll include the best email and photo in an up coming issue. They definately came on 1979 Pace Car Replicas and 1979-81 Cobras.
