#1 - CMA 6.0 Report #2: The Alpha version has been completed and is undergoing testing and debugging right now. Things look very promising and all items seem to be working as designed and developed. Some good news! Through the years that I have been writing code I have been learing better methods of programming. I used every trick in my programmer's bag of tricks to reduce the final size of the compiled program. This will allow for faster downloads, quicker start ups, and much improved usage speed. There is now about triple the amount of information within the program, but due to special compression it will take up about half the amount of space on your hard drive. If you have read this far, then you are most likely interested in the operation of the program and might make a good Beta tester. See the next item in the Newsletter for specifics concerning Beta testing the new CMA 6.0 version.
Are you interested in getting a sneak peak at CMA 6.0 in the near future? Then please apply to become one of my Beta testers for this version. Please understand that applying is not a guarantee of acceptance. In order to receive a Beta copy, you will be asked to send back an agreement that basically says that you will not sell, give away, or decompile it's code and that I am not responsible if your computer goes into spasms and blows up. Everyone who applies should realize that this is not a free version, it will expire in a certain time period. If you agree to do this, you will be asked to provide me with a short report or review concering any bugs that you find, problems incurred, or praise that you feel the new version may deserve. If you think you would be able to comply with the above and wish to apply, then send your request to Beta Tester for CMA 6.0 Application

BASIC INFORMATION: Would you like to have songs that go with your classic Mustang's year? If you have your own CD Writer and burn your own CD-R's this might come in helpful. To download MP3 files, first you have to locate them. Try using Napster (download at Napster.com)or Imesh (download at imesh.com). You also need to be able to convert your MP3's to .wav files before you burn them onto the CD-R as they will not play on your car CD player in MP3 format. To change them into .wav files use WinAmp also downloadable at Softseek.com. All programs are now free by the way, but Napster might start charging for there service soon. If you just want to play the MP3 files on your computer all you need is Napster. Windows Media Player, Real Player and Imesh the new kid on the block also can play them. Search for songs by title or by artist. Look for more songs listed by year in future CMA Newsletters. Next issue 1974-1975 songs.
1972-1973 SONGS:

Editor's Note: Those of you who are registered users can read or reread the section about classic Mustang pricing in the Analyzer. Using a certified classic car appraiser is the best idea, because many folks just don't know what to look for. Using a professional is well worth the price. You can usually find one in one of the local clubs. Please use this series as an updated guide to the prices contained in the current version of CMA.
The ratings are fair, good, and excellent to simplify things although many professionals use a one to five rating with five being the lowest. So you can correlate this to three, two, and one because anything less is really not worth the investment unless it's a very rare or valuable model. Fair would represent a car in driving condition, but in need of restoration. Good represents a show car in what most people might consider mint condition with some minor flaws. Excellent represents a show car in what the MCA might call Thoroughbred class condition. What that means in some cases is better than showroom condition with all original parts or factory original replacement parts. All markings, tags and decals are correct in every detail.
Viiginia Classic Mustang Inc. has been in business for about twenty years and according to there website they have been distributing a catalog since 1984. I visited their fairly new website recently and found some true delights. The NOS (New Old Stock) section is one of the best that I have seen and the prices are quite fair cosidering the rarity of the items being offered for sale. I have purchased from this fine company in the past with good results at all times. Another interesting area was the Vintage Racing section, with some wonderful photos in the gallery. I did have a couple of minor criticisms concerning their website. Number one they had no email contact information. They did have a phone number and address posted, but in this internet age this is not enough. This relays to the customer, "Don't bother me, except for a sale." I hope they fix this soon. Also they have no links section and when you attempt to bookmark their website the link says "Home Page", instead of the company name. All in all the trip is worth the visit and with more web savy they will improve their website.
