OVERVIEW

Carlisle Events, host of 11 collector car, truck and motorcycle events each year, attracts
more than half a million people to its 82-acre fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pa., each year.
Included in the annual schedule are two huge automotive swap meets -- in the spring and fall
-- and individual specialty shows featuring Corvettes, Fords, GMs, Chryslers, trucks,
motorcycles, sport compacts and imports. Founded in 1974 by friends Bill Miller and Chip
Miller, the “Cars at Carlisle” shows attract automotive enthusiasts from around the world.

Below is a list of activities scheduled for this year's show. If you are planning a trip to visit, periodically check the What's New page or subscribe to the e-mail newsletter. Both of these sources will keep you up-to-date on the latest news for this event.

T-Bird History: See Every Model of Thunderbird since 1955 in our Evolution Display The Thunderbird has been exciting America since 1955, and we’ll have cars representing every significant year in the T-Bird’s history. In a display of the car’s evolution, all models and styling changes will be in attendance. Even Ford Motor Co. has never had such an extensive exhibit on the subject.

Boss Car Reunion: The largest Boss Car gathering in history, more than a hundred of these classic Mustangs and Cougars will be in attendance. Three significant areas of racing will be represented with vehicles and noted drivers. The Trans-Am Mustangs from the Bud Moore Racing team; the Checkerboard Maverick driven by “Fast” Eddie Schartman (see more on this car elsewhere on this site) and a recreation of the Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II driven by Cale Yarborough will be on display. And see some of the most treasured, original, unrestored Boss cars from privatre collections. This gathering WILL make history.

Indoor Display: Restored and unrestored, and some nicely modified All-original and all-surviving … if you want to see more than 30 cars displayed that show off the way cars came out of the factory or the way they have held up in the years since, then Building T is the place to see. A combination of nicely restored and unrestored cars ranging from a ’25 Model-T Doctor’s Coupe to a ’97 Lincoln Mark VIII, you’ll see Fords, Lincolns, Mercurys and every Blue Oval … and original, in our Invitationals Display. At this time the Invitational display is filled and we are no longer taking applications for 2005.
