#2 - CMA 6.0 Report #1: As mentioned several times recently, I am hard at work on version 6.0 and am nearing completion of an an Alpha version. Version 6.0 looks to be huge improvement in size, speed, and stability over it's predecessor. The screen resolution has been reset at 800x600, which is what most people who returned the survey requested. I am completely rewriting about ninety percent of the code to make the Analyzer the most intuitive easy to use Mustang hobby software there is on the market today. The new CMA 6.0 will have a totally new look, with both updated and additional information. It will contain four built in code analyzers as well as it's former, but updated research database. The automatic decoders for the VIN, Door Data Plate, BuckTags, and Paint Chips have been completely revised. The Window Sticker Maker, Restoration Keeper, Show Planner, and Sign or Iron-On Transfer Designer have all been updated. The TIPS and HELP sections will be completely integrated, so no more add-ons for now. Also, the Clubs and Vendors database components have been removed. These will now be handled by online links pages. As I stated earlier, this is still only an Alpha version. After I test it in a number configurations and environments and then revise any code that might be necessary, I'll be able to put together a Beta version for more wide spread testing. Sorry, I still can't say with any degree of certainty when a release date will be forthcoming, it's still way to early for that. Please don't email me about when the new version will be ready, it will just slow me down. I promise to make all announcements as soon as I am able too, through the Newsletter or Newsletter list. This is as much as I can say now, so stay tuned for more.

2- MEADOWLANDS MOTOR SHOW

Garden State Region Mustang Club

For the first time ever, on June 24, 2001, the Garden State Region Mustang Club is hosting a car show in the heart of the New Jersey Meadowlands. The show will take place at the Whiskey Cafe Country Dance Club, 1050 Wall Street,in Lyndhurst New Jersey. With Giants Stadium and the New York City skyline visible from the show field, this should be a excellent location for an event like the Meadowlands Motor show. The show is open to all years, makes and models of cars and trucks and we are expecting over 300 to participate in the show. In addition to the 300 plus show cars, the number of spectators attending the show should top 750. These numbers could be considered conservative however, because each Saturday night from May through October, the cruise night at the Whiskey Cafe draws over 500 cars and at least double the number of people. These vehicles will be competing for trophies in thirty-four classes. There is also a special class for Antique Automobile Club of America and Mustang Club of America National Winners, which will feature some of the best show cars in the country. The Meadowlands Motor Show will be held at the Whiskey Cafe Country Dance Club, 1050 Wall Street, Lyndhurst, NJ. Pre-register by 6/10/01 and pay $12 or $15 on day of show. Vendor swap meet spaces $15 pre-registered and $20 day of show. All Mustang and special interest classes available. For a flyer or more info contact John at 201-265-8550, Greg at 973-334-4073 or DMGJBP@AOL.COM . Website at www.GSRMC.org . Dash Plaques to first 250 entries.

A show of this magnitude costs a great deal of money to put on, and while some of that cost is covered by registration fees, much of it is not. In addition to covering the costs associated with the show, we have the Muscular Dystrophy Association as a recipient of a portion of the proceeds. Most of you are aware of the MDA's work in fighting 43 neuromuscular diseases and last year alone, we were able to contribute over $3,000 from the proceeds of our fall show to their cause. With your help, we hope to significantly increase our yearly donation in 2001.

We are asking for your help to accomplish that goal. Trophies are the biggest expense of the show and are the most visible and memorable aspect of the show as well. Therefore, we are looking for trophy sponsorships to defray our costs. Each class consists of three trophies at a cost of $50. In addition, we are giving away six "Best of Show" awards. Each trophy sponsor will be; listed in the show program given to participants and spectators, mentioned periodically by the D.J. during the show, and of course, be announced at the awards presentation. There is also the opportunity to select a specific class/es on a first come, first served basis.
For more information, please call John at (201)265-8550.

3- MP3 SONGS TO SEARCH FOR BY YEAR

BASIC INFORMATION: Would you like to have songs that go with your classic Mustang's year? If you have your own CD Writer and burn your own CD-R's this might come in helpful. To download MP3 files, first you have to locate them. Try using Napster (download at Napster.com)or Imesh (download at imesh.com). You also need to be able to convert your MP3's to .wav files before you burn them onto the CD-R as they will not play on your car CD player in MP3 format. To change them into .wav files use WinAmp also downloadable at Softseek.com. All programs are now free by the way, but Napster might start charging for there service soon. If you just want to play the MP3 files on your computer all you need is Napster. Newer versions of Windows Media Player and Real Player also can play them. Search for songs by title or by artist. Look for more songs listed by year in future CMA Newsletters. Next issue 1972-1973 songs.

4- ELEVEN COMMANDMENTS OF BILL GATES

At a high school program Bill Gates spoke about eleven things the students did not learn in school. He talked about how feel-good politically correct teachings may have created a full generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept has set them up for failure in the real world.

5- WHAT'S IT WORTH? - 1972 (8TH IN SERIES)

1972 MUSTANG FAIR GOOD EXCELLENT
HARDTOP 1850 3100 5125
SPORTSROOF 2600 4350 7175
CONVERTIBLE 4900 8175 13500
GRANDE 2050 3400 5600
MACH 1 4525 7550 12450

Editor's Note: Those of you who are registered users can read or reread the section about classic Mustang pricing in the Analyzer. Using a certified classic car appraiser is the best idea, because many folks just don't know what to look for. Using a professional is well worth the price. You can usually find one in one of the local clubs. Please use this series as an updated guide to the prices contained in the current version of CMA.

The ratings are fair, good, and excellent to simplify things although many professionals use a one to five rating with five being the lowest. So you can correlate this to three, two, and one because anything less is really not worth the investment unless it's a very rare or valuable model. Fair would represent a car in driving condition, but in need of restoration. Good represents a show car in what most people might consider mint condition with some minor flaws. Excellent represents a show car in what the MCA might call Thoroughbred class condition. What that means in some cases is better than showroom condition with all original parts or factory original replacement parts. All markings, tags and decals are correct in every detail.
