Our ’68 GT 350 Shelby #225 has had a hard life. It was designed to be driven, built to be driven, sold to be driven, and driven it was. Many owners back, its first month of life saw 4,000 miles and within 6 months it had a new engine. The car was found by us in California and had three owners in that state. Three owners back had won the car in a raffle and was called a “druggie dude” by the man who bought the car from him. It had been wrecked in the front driver quarter, had four flat tires and was filled with newspapers. The motor was rebuilt at that time and restoration was started but never finished. The man we purchased the car from only had it a year and succeeded in dismantling it further. We bought the car with Enron stock money. At the time we thought it was so frivolous. Now we’re glad!! It had no interior, fenders, glass or fiberglass. We thought “Hey, we should have it on the road in 6 months.” As most of you know, that was a pipe dream and after four years of parts searching and restoration, we have our “Purple Dream.” After seeing five RED ’68 GT’s in Reno we decided that our original red car would be red no more. We shopped at the Roadster Shows and found the beautiful three stage color it is now. Last February was its debut and it got its share of trophies this summer. When Carroll saw a picture of it at the recent SAAC Does Vegas 8, he said “That’s NICE.” Now I ask you, what more could you want?!

CommentsI've owned this 64 1/2 Mustang convertible since 1976. It was a daily driver until 2 years ago when we made the decision to completely restore it. What happen was that our oldest daughter destroyed her car in an accident and my wife and I decided to give her our '98 Tahoe and we'd buy a new vehicle. My wife drove a Vtec Honda Del Sol that was a fun car, but she decided that she was getting a back ache driving it so she wanted a new car also. In pricing 2 new cars we quickly decided that we shouldn't invest that kind of money in a car that would soon depreciate quickly. Well, I drove a '70 Chevy pickup to work and we both drove the Mustang from time to time. The decision was that we would restore both the '70 Chevy and the Mustang and be money ahead. The truck was first to be completely restored and when finished, last year, we started on the Mustang. The photos were taken the day we picked up the Mustang from Brian's Paint and Body in Page, Arizona. Now things have changed. The truck is a daily driver even though it was a 95% concurs restoration. Now, the Mustang will be a show car and not driven except on occasion. Now I'm looking for an early Mustang fastback to make into a daily driver for my wife. The Mustang is almost finished. We have the interior ready to install as soon as we finish a few mechanical matters.

CommentsShe was born in Late June of 69. Her Early years were spent in the Canadian Lands up North and then she went south.....south to Alabama where her life as a Southern Belle was one of fine weather and excellent treatment by the gentleman. She is the envy of every man and woman, both young and old. Her curves are voluptuous and demeanor low key. She had a body to die for, the same body her mom put together all those years ago. Age has not diminished her beauty in fact she is a classic. Now that is not to say she won't kick up her heels and cut up a little, so to speak, seeing that she was outfitted with a 351 V8 and a four speed. This lady can dance, sing and tease. Yes, she is a flirt with all the boys....flashing her red dress and showing just a hint of her hidden black garments...but make no mistake, do not get her angry....do not make fun of her or she will have her way with you then make you pay dearly! When pushed to the limit, she will take a deep breath of air through the ram air setup and then run it through the 351, turning her fury into power. That power runs through a 4spd toploader and is handled by a Hurst shifter on the way out to a 9" trac-lok rear end. The dual exhaust system makes breathing easy, even when the factory a/c is on high. If your ready to listen to the band and feel like dancing then come to Central New York where you can find this beauty ready to run and play....but remember, do not make her angry.
