The requirements for eligibility are: 1) The club must be the host of the event. 2) The event must be advertised. 3) The club must have a web site and be willing to establish and maintain a link to the Trim Guild Racing (with logo) web site. In return, the club will receive the Hood Hinge Firewall Bezels and have their logo and link posted on Trim Guild Racing's Club Support page (http://www.trimguildracing.com/clubs.htm).
"We have all ready made donations to eight clubs. They range from Oak Harbor, WA to Pensacola, FL", says Mike Keown (Mustang Mike). "There are no geographic boundaries to our program, just the shared love of Mustangs".
To get the application process started, email sales@atlantamustangs.com with your club name and web site address, the show location and date. Visit the Club page at http://www.trimguildracing.com/clubs.htm to see the clubs that have all ready received their products.
BASIC INFORMATION: Would you like to have songs that go with your classic Mustang's year? If you have your own CD Writer and burn your own CD-R's this might come in helpful. To download MP3 files, first you have to locate them. Try using Napster (download at Napster.com). You also need to be able to convert your MP3's to .wav files before you burn them onto the CD-R as they will not play on your car CD player in MP3 format. To change them into .wav files use WinAmp also downloadable at Softseek.com. All programs are now free by the way, but Napster might start charging for there service soon. If you just want to play the MP3 files on your computer all you need is Napster. Newer versions of Windows Media Player and Real Player also can play them. Search for songs by title or by artist. Look for more songs listed by year in future CMA Newsletters. Next issue 1968-1969 songs.
1968-1969 SONGS:
Several weeks ago, I sent out a survey dealing with some important issues concerning the next update of the CMA software program. All registered newsletter recipients should have received one. If you have not returned yours as yet and would like to contribute, you still may. Here are the results so far, in rounded out percents.
1- What screen resolution size would you prefer?
5%___ 640x480
80%___ 800x600
15%___ 1024x768
2- How many colors do wish to display? (More color=more memory needed)
0%___ 256 colors
10%___ 16 bit High Color set to 32,000 colors
15%___ 16 bit High Color set to 64,000 colors
70%___ 24 bit color set to 16 million colors
5%___ 32 bit color set to 16 million colors
3- Would you prefer the three minute idle event removed?
10%___ Remove
30%___ Keep
40%___ Keep it, but extend it to five minutes
20%___ Keep it, but extend it to ______ minutes
4- What should be done with the following modules?
95% keep___ Automatic Decoder (keep, remove)
100% keep___ BuckTag Decoder (add, don't add)
100% keep___ Paint Configurator (keep, remove)
60% keep___ Clubs Database (keep, remove)
40% keep___ Vendor Database (keep, remove)
5- Please feel free to make suggestions, I can't promise I'll be able to
deliver on them all, but each will be discussed and considered.
Interpretive statement: It looks as if the new CMA will be formated to a 800x600 screen resolution with 16 million 24 bit color. Much to my surprise most people opted to keep the idle event reminder. I was starting to find it annoying and thought most others would as well. Not only did people choose to keep it, but also to extend it to five minutes instead of the original three. All totaled 90% surveyed said to keep it. No big surprises for the Auto Decoder, BuckTag Decoder, and Paint Configurator. The decision here was to keep them. The Clubs and Vendors Database did not fair as well however. I believe at this time, unless I run in to big problems that I will be able to add the Automatic and BuckTag Decoders as well as the Paint Configurator into the coding of the main program, so that they will not have to start up as add-ons. This will save a lot of bytes, so the whole program will be leaner and run much faster. Improvements to all parts of the programming will greatly enhance it's accuracy, speed and ease of use. I don't particularly relish the idea of removing clubs or vendors from the program entirely, but it's clear from the responses that people no longer like them presented in a database format. I'm toying with the idea of a simple internet links section for clubs. This would connect you directly to their website so that you could get instant information. This might be a part of the program or simply a connection to an online page of the CMA website itself. So many people from all over the world have either emailed or snail mailed me looking for good sources of classic Mustang parts, that I'm really hesitant to remove all vendors. The database has outlived it's usefulness, but I think at least a small recommended list of vendors or a connection to a vendors webpage on the CMA website needs to be considered. I will be working on this project over the course of the next several months. Right now I'm shooting for a late May release, I hope I'm not too optimistic!

Editor's Note: Those of you who are registered users can read or reread the section about classic Mustang pricing in the Analyzer. Using a certified classic car appraiser is the best idea, because many folks just don't know what to look for. Using a professional is well worth the price. You can usually find one in one of the local clubs. Please use this series as an updated guide to the prices contained in the current version of CMA.
The ratings are fair, good, and excellent to simplify things although many professionals use a one to five rating with five being the lowest. So you can correlate this to three, two, and one because anything less is really not worth the investment unless it's a very rare or valuable model. Fair would represent a car in driving condition, but in need of restoration. Good represents a show car in what most people might consider mint condition with some minor flaws. Excellent represents a show car in what the MCA might call Thoroughbred class condition. What that means in some cases is better than showroom condition with all original parts or factory original replacement parts. All markings, tags and decals are correct in every detail.
