Do you want to really feel apart of the racing action that is NASCAR? Well believe me, now you can. Most of you have probably heard of all the fantasy baseball, football and hockey leagues around. Now there is one for all of us car nuts. It's called Fantansy Cup Auto Racing and you can now try it out for free to see how you like it before actually signing up. Go to the site by clicking on the banner above. Choose the free trial. No information of any kind will be requested from you. You will be competing against people who have actually played already and whose results are registered and calculated against your own. Give it a try, it's a combination of strategy and luck. The way it works is, you are provided with a certain amount of money or points to put together the best racing team you can. All drivers are ranked and given a dollar/point value. You must stay within your spending allotment.
BASIC INFORMATION: Would you like to have songs that go with your classic Mustang's year? If you have your own CD Writer and burn your own CD-R's this might come in helpful. To download MP3 files, first you have to locate them. Try using Napster (download at Napster.com). You also need to be able to convert your MP3's to .wav files before you burn them onto the CD-R as they will not play on your car CD player in MP3 format. To change them into .wav files use WinAmp also downloadable at Softseek.com. All programs are now free by the way, but Napster might start charging for there service soon. If you just want to play the MP3 files on your computer all you need is Napster. Newer versions of Windows Media Player and Real Player also can play them. Search for songs by title or by artist. Look for more songs listed by year in future CMA Newsletters. Next issue 1968-1969 songs.
1966-1967 SONGS:
I'm sure those of you who have been around the car hobby for a long while will be familiar with JC Whitney, and their famous catalog. Maybe you are wondering what happened to them or if they are still in business. The good news is yes they are still around and in business. As always their great catalog is still 100% free and it's loaded with parts for Fords and Ford Mustangs. They still carry parts for Mustangs as old as 1965's. Their prices are very competitive and they still have those hard to find items. Just use the banner link above to visit their site and request a free catalog. Unlike many other companies, you won't receive a mailing from them every other day. The catalog is big and thick with hundreds of pages and as far as I know is still only published once or twice a year. Check it out, it's a real old time catalog and lot's of fun to look at.

Editor's Note: Those of you who are registered users can read or reread the section about classic Mustang pricing in the Analyzer. Using a certified classic car appraiser is the best idea, because many folks just don't know what to look for. Using a professional is well worth the price. You can usually find one in one of the local clubs. Please use this series as an updated guide to the prices contained in the current version of CMA.
The ratings are fair, good, and excellent to simplify things although many professionals use a one to five rating with five being the lowest. So you can correlate this to three, two, and one because anything less is really not worth the investment unless it's a very rare or valuable model. Fair would represent a car in driving condition, but in need of restoration. Good represents a show car in what most people might consider mint condition with some minor flaws. Excellent represents a show car in what the MCA might call Thoroughbred class condition. What that means in some cases is better than showroom condition with all original parts or factory original replacement parts. All markings, tags and decals are correct in every detail.
"Gee Whiz" guys, wouldn't it be great if they really built the Bullitt Mustangs as featured in the 1968 movie of the same name? Do you remember saying that after watching Steve McQueen drive that 1968 Mustang down the hill in San Francisco while chasing the evil Dodge Charger guys? Well guess what, now they are. Only it's thirty-three years later and the car was a 2000 concept model that people fell in love with. Ford will produce 5,000 to 10,000 of them with special I.D. numbers and about 290 horsepower to boot.
About the only thing the new model will have in common with the movie version is the color...dark green. It will feature 17" American Racing Torg Thrust "D" style wheels and some power upgrades such as a 57mm throttle body. This car will be a real sleeper with no stripes or loud looking decals, just an ID badge on the rear. If you can't wait order a GT in dark green now, because the wheels are available right now and may be ordered on the GT model. You'll have to live with the 260 Hp of the GT though unless you upgrade the throttle body as well. Estimated price is rumored to be in the $25,000 range. Also rumored is that Chrysler will build the anti-Bullitt car, the new Charger RT for the 2004 model year. Get set for a remake of the movie. I just wonder who will play the Steve McQueen role as detective Bullitt?
