#2 - Problems with the CMA website while using Netscape and Web TV browsers have been identified and repairs are under way. If you experienced any difficulties while using these browsers I apologize. Please understand that it is virtually impossible to have every website appear perfectly in every edition or version of every browser. Efforts have been made to improve the quality and appearance of our website when viewed with Netscape Version 6 and Web TV. CMA is now optimized for MS Internet Explorer Version 5.5 using a screen resolution of 800 x 600 with 16 million 24 bit color. As soon as possible I hope to have CMA optimized with Netscape 6, so please let me know if you are continuing to experience any visual problems with the CMA site and I will work to repair them as quickly as possible. The biggest problem was with the INDEX.HTML page which was not displaying properly in Netscape and was very confusing to people arriving with Netscape. This has been repaired and is now better serving everyone. The scrolling Marquees are also a problem that will be addressed soon. Thank you for your patience regarding this matter.
#3 - Check out the newly redesigned CMA website banner at the top of the page!
More insider tips for using the Analyzer.
You can update or add information into the CMA data files. If you navigate to the folder where the CMA files are stored, you will see many files with the .dat ending, if your computer is set up to show file endings. These files are really simple text files that may be edited. CAUTION: Not editing the files correctly may render them useless for viewing through the main CMA executable program. ALWAYS make a backup file you intend to edit before actually editing it. This way if something does go wrong you still have the file it it's original form. For instance after opening ENGINE.DAT in NotePad use SAVE AS to save it as ENGINE.BAK first. Close ENGINE.BAK and go back to editing ENGINE.DAT. Why would you want to edit a .dat file? You might find out addition information or information that was not correct when the program was written. If you do, please inform me about it so that I might make the changes and post the updated file for download so that others might also benefit from the discovery.
This is the eleventh part of an on going series to present you with accurate prices to fill in to the CMA Window Sticker Maker. I have been searching for quite some time as I'm sure many of you have to find accurate sticker pricing information.

THE CLASSIC MUSTANG ANALYZER AFFILIATE PROGRAM
by John Palmisano
SIGN UP: Become a CMA affiliate.
The affiliate program is a wonderful opportunity for you to offer Classic Mustang Analyzer
for sale from your own website. There have been many requests by people for an easy way to sell CMA
from their own website and make a profit from the sales. Now you can pocket 25% of every sale of
CMA that your site visitors make. You've all seen affiliate programs out there on the 'net. For example
maybe you're selling some books off of Amazon.com and receiving a small portion of any sales. Well
now they can be your products. Affiliates have amazing flexibility. Because affiliates can customize
order form styles, some affiliates are even building entire store fronts out of affiliate products!
In addition, you'll have realtime account balance, and play-by-play view of incoming orders. You will
know what products are being ordered, the total, and just how much you received for each sale.
Affiliates have two options for promoting products. You can link straight to the order form (best for
online stores), or you can link to your home page using a special link that is provided. In either
case, through an in-house tracking system, even if the customer doesn't order just then, the affiliate
will still receive credit for the order say 2 months down the road. An affiliate receives credit no matter
when or where the customer finally decides to buy!
After you sign up as an affiliate you will go through a brief review process to make sure that you have
a valid homepage to promote our products from, to make sure we're not paying Elvis, etc. After that,
you will be sent instructions on how to access your administration area, and then they use a simple web
form to decide what products you would like to sell. The affiliate program is an outstanding opportunity
to spread the word about Classic Mustang Analyzer while providing an incentive for those who help to
promote our product on their own website, newsletters, estores, or software.

Is the Ford Motor Company in the same kind of trouble as it was with the Pinto back in the 1970's? Is the Explorer destined to become a dinosaur? Well the answer is maybe yes, but not for the reason you might think. Will people shy away from purchasing Explorers due to all the accidents and bad press caused by the defective Firestone Tires that were originally used? I think not. Why do I think this? Ford is replacing the tires with non-defective replacements and there is nothing inherently wrong with other parts of the vehicle. When compared to cars it has an excellent safety record according to Ford and the insurance industry spokesmen. Then why might it go the way of the Dodo bird you ask? Sales of large SUV's are down due to low gas milage figures, the high price of gas, and the high prices of the vehicles themselves. Will average folks give up their love affair with SUV's and return to more traditional cars? No, they will most likely fall in love with the next generation of smaller, lighter, higher milage SUV's such as the new Ford Escape model.
There is about as much passenger room in them as the Explorer had but here is far less cargo room. The Honda CRV, Toyota RAV, and Suzuki Vitara will all be competing in this class and Ford is a late comer. Ford is an awesome competitor and is sure to put up a strong sales effort.

I have been purchasing items from the Eastwood Company since the early 1980's. At that time they were a small catalog tool company. Their distinction it seems was selling unique and hard to find tools and accessories. They sell items such as the hard to find engine bay black with just the right amount of shine. Their line of unique metal finishes is in a class by itself. Ever try to find cadmium plating finish? They have it! How about Almost Chrome? They carry a full line of buffing supplies, stuff you just can't find anywhere else, seven catalog pages of it. All kinds of welding items, painted finishes, especially engine finishes that no one else has. Need the correct Argent silver wheel finish for those early Mustangs? Check out catalog page 20, and their charcoal gray rally wheel paint as well. Blaster media of all types and all sizes of cabinets too. Metal tools and sheet metal repair items for the home restoration do it yourselfer. Sixteen different interior color dyes and interior installation tools. If you plan on doing some of your own auto restoration work you gotta call these guys. Go to their website and send for there FREE catalog. If you are in a car club and want something for your free goodie bags, they will send you a supply of catalogs and maybe a raffle item as well.

Editor's Note: Those of you who are registered users can read or reread the section about classic Mustang pricing in the Analyzer. Using a certified classic car appraiser is the best idea, because many folks just don't know what to look for. Using a professional is well worth the price. You can usually find one in one of the local clubs. Please use this series as an updated guide to the prices contained in the current version of CMA.
The ratings are fair, good, and excellent to simplify things although many professionals use a one to five rating with five being the lowest. So you can correlate this to three, two, and one because anything less is really not worth the investment unless it's a very rare or valuable model. Fair would represent a car in driving condition, but in need of restoration. Good represents a show car in what most people might consider mint condition with some minor flaws. Excellent represents a show car in what the MCA might call Thoroughbred class condition. What that means in some cases is better than showroom condition with all original parts or factory original replacement parts. All markings, tags and decals are correct in every detail.
